St Joseph's PTA Summer Ball

Booking your place

Thank you so much to all those who have reserved their places for the Ball and paid in full. The interest shown to the Ball at the Christmas Fair gave us a fantastic start and 17 tables of ten have already been reserved. As the event is proving so popular, we will be operating a first come first served policy. To be guaranteed a place, please book and pay the ticket price of £60 per person as soon as possible. Cheques should be made payable to St Joseph’s PTA and sent in via your child’s school bag or into the postbox at school with Summer Ball marked on the envelope.

How you can help

Those who have attended our previous Summer Balls will know that we do not profit from the ticket price for the event. All our fundraising is from our two auctions and a raffle on the night. Our short live auction during dinner is a chance to splash out on something unique if you wish. Our silent auction has lots of interesting lower value items and is quite often where you can secure a bargain!

For our Summer Ball to be a success, we need your help. Parents have always been incredibly generous in the past ensuring that our previous auctions have generated £24,000 for St Joseph’s PTA. This has provided most of the equipment you see in the playgrounds and much more. We want this year’s auctions to be bigger, better and hopefully more unique so we can provide new computers for the children in our ICT suite.

  • Do you have a service you can offer, from babysitting to DIY to gardening - anything goes?
  • Do you have a favourite restaurant, hairdresser, beauty salon, where you would feel comfortable to ask the owner for a donation?
  • Would your employer be interested in sponsoring a table, buying some advertising space or donating something?
  • Do you have a famous friend that could offer some signed memorabilia?

You get the idea. If you have something in mind but are not sure whether or not it will work, just ask us. We package things together too to make things appealing. There is a small team of us working to secure items from local businesses, friends and parents but we are limited to who we know. Please let us know if you have anything to donate and the sooner the better as our programme will go to print in May.

If you have any queries, please email Lesley Spellman and keep in touch with what’s going on on our Facebook page. Make sure you click LIKE at the top of the page and it will appear in your newsfeed when you log into Facebook.

Manchester Town Hall is the perfect venue for a night to remember and we hope that this year will be no exception. So please help secure some fantastic auction items to help along the way. Thanks again for your continued support.
